    Hi Matthew,

It is pretty hot this week and as of yet I don’t have any shuttles scheduled for Porcupine Rim. If you guys are flexible I’ll try to get you on with some other riders. Please give me a call at 435-260-2097 or email your cell number to info@coyoteshuttle.com so I can get in touch with you if I get some more folks. Thanks and I’ll talk to you soon!

We will be in Moab Oct 11-16. What kind of shuttles are going on? Interested in Porcepine and Gooseberry Mesa. We are two intermediate/Adv. riders. Probably Intermediate in Moab. We can be talked into going to La Sal, since we’ve never been there. Probably need a women’s small and a women’s medium or mens small – 5″ or so travel. Lighter weight better.

    Hi Sara,

Most of the shuttles we do go to Porcupine Rim and its’ longer versions which include LPS, Kokopelli, Hazard and Burro. The Whole Enchilada includes all the trails I listed and starts out at the highest drop off point in the La Sals. This is definitely an all day advanced ride but there are ways to make it shorter. Other common shuttles are to Gemini Bridges and also the Bar M trails. Most of the other rides do not need a shuttle if you have your own transportation or you can ride to them from town. Our shuttles range from $10-25 per person. Gooseberry Mesa isn’t in this vicinity, it is over by Zion National Park by St George and is about 6 hrs away.

Are you flying into town or driving?

As for your bike, you will have to contact the Chile Pepper Bike shop. Their website is http://www.chilebikes.com or 888-677-4688. They have a great selection of rental bikes that are perfect for this area. We just provide the shuttle.

Please feel free to contact me with more questions. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Kristi

    Hello Matthew,

Myself and two other riders will be in Moab April 9th- 12th. We are interested in DH Riding and was interested in what shuttles will be running at that time. Also, any information on Downhill riding you may have will be extremely valuable. Thank you for your time and I look foward to meeting you.

    Hi Andy,

Your best bets will be any variation of the Porcupine Rim trail and the New Mag 7 trails for a more downhill experience. There are several drop off points for Porcupine but where we go is determined by the snow level. In April, most likely we’ll be going to the LPS trail which makes Porcupine a mainly downhill trail. The Mag 7 is a new trail and will hopefully be open by April. This one is mainly downhill with a short climb near the end of the trail. Both are shuttle runs with one way drop. It sounds as if you have never been to Moab? There are lots of fun, technical rides around here and to make the most of it, I recommend bringing your downhill bike and another not so big bike to truly get the most out of the area. Other great downhills are off of Amasa Back and the Portal but you have to climb to get to them. See you soon!

    Hi Pat,

All the desert trails are open and as of now, the weather has been great. Porcupine is open with just a little snow and by this weekend we are hoping to ride LPS.
Funny you should ask, yesterday we had a trail day and officially opened a portion of the former Dot trails. Two parts, below Gemini Bridges are open, Arth’s Pasture and Little Canyon Rim singletrack will be open by the end of today. The top part won’t be open for about 6 weeks as it involves a land swap. Part of the Blue Dot was legalized, is now open and is called the Gold Bar Singletrack.

    Hope to see you soon!

    Hey

A group of us biking are coming down next week from BC to ride. Some were looking at “The Whole Enchilada” trails. Are they all ridable right now?

    Hi Jeff,

There is still snow in the mountains but the UPS is open. Hopefully by next week we’ll be able to ride the upper Kokopelli to UPS, to Porcupine. The best time to ride the Whole Enchilada is in Sept and Oct. By the time Burro Pass melts, it is too hot in the desert to ride Porcupine. Then in the fall, we have to ride it before the snow flies.
    Thanks! Kristi

Hi Kristi, Sue, Hans, Abbie, Britt & Myself are hitting the road for Moab noon tomarrow. It’s been a slow start to spring here in Hailey and look forward to warmer temps in your area. Any suggestions for camping? Proximity to kid friendly riding would be ideal. I know it’s a busy weekend, but any inside information would be greatly appreciated. We’ll give a call when we are in town…. Pete & Family

Hi Pete! The best is to camp on BLM ground right after the airport before you get to town or up in the La Sal Mountains. Town is packed! Give me a call and I can describe things in more detail! See you soon!

Found your cell. Realized I shouldn’t ask that on an “open” page, sorry. What’s the river like, perhaps a shuttle up river?

Terri, I am so sorry I didn’t get to this. I am supposed to manage this website but I find it hard to find the time. Please just email me directly at info@coyoteshuttle.com. And no worries on the cell phone, it is our business line so it is on the web anyway.

So, the river is up but fun. I am going to give her a go in a duckie this weekend. Please give us a call when you get to town. Thanks and hope to see you two soon.
